Its been awhile since my last post, I have been doing a paper route for a friend and get up a 2:50am to have the papers out by 6AM so needless to say I have been really tired.

Fall is upon us here in Maine. The leaves are changing and it is getting crisp and cool out. This is my favorite time of year. I love to go for walks and have the colored leaves fall around me. The deer have been out eating and getting ready for a lo
ng winter. Here is a picture of a 6 Point Buck in my backyard.

I live on a game preserve so he can live a long and happy life.

I will leave you with a picture of my kitty girls.

Welcome back to my crazy life. The weather has turned much cooler, this morning it was only in the high 30's. Which means the leaves will start to change colors soon. I am so not ready for winter to come.

I have been enjoying some of what fall offers. Apples are one of my Fall favorites, with a Wolfe River Apple tree in my parents yard, they are easy to get. Apple crisps and applesauce are on the to make lists. Maybe some apple butter and apple brown betty also. Walking is another favorite of Fall, not to hot so the miles are more enjoyable.

I have been working in sewing room the past couple of day. Here is what I made.

Its a protective sleeve for my laptop. With 2 cats running around, I didn't want it to get scratched up.

Empty Nest

Today my 18 y/o left for Navy boot camp. I have mixed emotions, and my worry meter is as high as it can go and them some. It seems like yesterday he was a newborn in my arms. He has grown into a responsible man and makes me proud. Following a long tradition on family members that went in to the service. His Papa could not be prouder of him, as he was a Navy man himself.

Where do I go from here? I will pray every night that he is safe, and have faith that he will be home safe and sound someday.

In the midst of all this I have been knitting a sweater for my Mom. I is a Knitting Pure and Simple pattern. It was fun to make and the pattern is simple. I just had moments where I could not count. Will post a picture of the finish sweater soon. All there is left to do is finish the cuff of the sleeve and the button bands.

My next knitting project will be all for me. I will be making the Dogwood Blossoms sweater by Knit Picks in purple. Here is a pic.

This will be my first time steeking. Wish me luck.

Changes

It's been awhile since I have been here. I hope to make this at least a weekly post, with a few changes. My life is not all about knitting, so I will talk about other things going on in my life.
